The Beauty of Impermanence

The Japanese aesthetic of Wabi-Sabi is the acceptance of the natural cycle of growth, decay and death. It reveres the effect that time, weather and use have on everything. It reminds us that everything is temporary; that our bodies and the material world around us are in the process of returning to the dust from which we came. Wabi-Sabi awareness is a way of being fully present, being attentive and appreciative of life and thus living in each moment while also accepting that it will not last.
