After moving to the Pacific Northwest in June 2014, we decided to start this blog as a record of our outings to keep our families and friends informed of our "adventures" and to possibly help any lowly travelers on their own exploration of the Pacific Northwest.
The woods heading in to the parking lot were very overgrown, almost haunting because there were some many broken trunks but it was still very beautiful. The trail was about a 2 mile walk, an easy hike up the bluffs. We always stop and photograph along the way so it’s hard to say how long it takes to get there.
The Tillamook Lighthouse sits out in the middle of the ocean on a basalt rock and there’s a tragic story to this lighthouse which was nicknamed “Terrible Tillie” that you can read about on Wikipedia. As you can see by the photos, it’s still a nice shot to take and a good stretch of the legs.
